JOHANNESBURG – French Ligue 1 outfit, Bastia, are believed to have shown an interest in Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Willard Katsande, and are currently monitoring him.
Katsande, 30, has been a rock at the centre of the Amakhosi’s defence over the past four seasons, and this year has added goalscoring to his repertoire as his teammates struggled in front of goal.
It appears that his efforts for club and country – he is on the verge of captaining Zimbabwe to their first Africa Cup of Nations since 2008 – have not gone unnoticed.
As things stand, it is thought that Bastia are only taking a look at the midfielder’s videos, however, they may be tempted to make a move for him if they like what they see.
Katsande has become an integral part of Chiefs in recent years, but his contract will expire at the end of next season and he will therefore be able to discuss precontracts with any interested clubs come January.
