TROUBLED musician who is struggling to support his two children, Sulumani Chimbetu was Wednesday caged five months over $4 400 alimony arrears.
Chimbetu was convicted after own guilty plea indicating that the arrears accumulated last year because of economic hardships.
Magistrate, Amanda Muridzo, however, wholly suspended his sentence on condition he pays $300 immediately.
She ruled that failure to do so, the musician, who is no longer a visitor at the courts over the same case, will risk going to prison.
Chimbetu, last year, successfully applied for downward variation of the fees.
He was then ordered to pay $200 for each child per month from $400 a month per child.
However, when he made the application his arrears had already accumulated to $3 300.
The complainant in this case is his ex-wife Marygold Mutemasango.
