It will take the last game of the season to decide the 2017 Central Region Soccer League (CRSL) champions, with three probable teams eyeing the league title.
Nichrut currently stands supreme with 73 points only separated from second placed Tongogara on goal difference, with the same number of points.
Whawha, currently on 71 points, seem to have dropped out of the tittle race after unnecessarily dropping two points in their 30th match of the season at their home ground when they drew against Tel One.
Nichrut veteran gaffer and former Chapungu Coach, John Nyikadzino, faces an uphill task ahead in their last game of the season hoping to overcome stubborn Chrome Stars at the Chrome Stadium in the coming weekend who are the only huddle standing between them and the region championship.
Coming from a 2-0 victory over fifth placed Ivan Hoe Mine in their last encounter, Nichrut hope to end the season in style praying that Chrome Stars, who are jovial following a 3-0 victory over Kwekwe Stars last weekend, will have a bad day in office.
Second placed Tongogara will however be banking on a Chrome Stars victory to deny Nyikadzinos boys the much needed three points to lift the trophy as they take on Ivan Hoe Mine.
Tongogara dismissed ZRP Gwanda 2-0 in their last encounter making sure they are still on the title race.
Meanwhile, on the bottom end of the log, Border Strikers, Silo United, Kwekwe Stars and Gwanda United make up the four teams which are already relegated to the ‘lesser’ fashionable Division 2 League.
The final round of the season will see TelOne face FC Platinum U19 at Wilson Fields, MSU take on Kwekwe Stars at MSU, Ivan Hoe Mine battle Tongogara at Amaveni, Chrome Stars against Nichrut at the Chrome Stadium and ZRP Gwanda will be playing against Border Strikers at Phelandaba Stadium.
Makusha face Black Eagles at Makusha, Blanket Mine against Whawha at Blanket Mine Stadium, ZPC Munyati will face Vumbachikwe at Munyati and Gwanda United will play Silo United at Phelandaba Stadium as well, all on Saturday (11/11/2017).
